The crisis is causing less people to go out to cafes and restaurants as they are focusing their, in many cases, reduced income to be put towards stockpiling groceries and other necessities. Alongside this, people are going out less as a result of social distancing. To stay afloat during an all time low in business, the cafe I work in has been opening less hours in a day and reducing staffing to only one team member to carry out all the duties throughout the day. This has severely reduced each team members hours. I was the only full time front of house team member now scraping 10 hours per week, at least until the cafe shuts down for good.
