I have worked as a Chef for 12 years. I took a pay cut to save my job & the jobs of others I work with because the owner of the restaurant didn’t want to let any of the employees out of work. The hours I will work each week are very uncertain, my roster is constantly being changed.
I went from having a stable full time job & income security to not knowing if I will work enough hours to pay my rent, bills & essential living expenses. This all happened overnight!
